We are delighted to celebrate Charlie, a skilled Senior Engineer who became part of the QED team six months ago at our Hove office. Recently, we had the pleasure of interviewing Charlie to gain insight into his journey, experiences, and reflections during his time with us.
What is your name and how long have you been working at QED?
My name is Charlie Bowles, and I have worked here for 6 months.
What are your hobbies and interests?
I like to run, cycle, swim, cook, and camp.
Which office are you based in and how do you travel to work?
I am based in the Hove office, and I cycle to work.
What is your favourite thing about where you live?
My favourite thing is being close to the sea, the downs and the great pubs and food.
When did you go to university and what did you study?
I studied engineering at Sheffield University and graduated in 2012.
What was your last job like and how have you progressed since then?
My last job was focussed more on larger projects. I wanted to get better at smaller, residential jobs, of which I am getting lots of experience now.
Are there any challenges you have had to overcome since working at QED?
Our jobs are full of daily little challenges and to overcome this I make sure to ask lots of questions.
What have you enjoyed about your time at QED so far?
I have enjoyed being around very friendly colleagues and being close to the sea.

Are there any additional comments you wish to make?
Not one in particular, but I have enjoyed getting more experience with smaller jobs.
